As mentioned in the article, it is not a controlled substance and is not a drug of abuse. This makes it perfect for use as a sleep aid for people in detox and drug/alcohol rehab. I would estimate that 75% of my fellow patients (including myself) were rx'ed a low dose of seroquel (way under the threshold for treating psychosis) before bed to calm us and help us sleep.
